Some people view divorce as an escape out of their troubled marital predicament. The supposed escape can unfortunately become an even greater imprisonment. Whilst the prison bars may initially not show themselves, they eventually do some time down the line. The scars of emotional trauma that are part of a marriage break-up never disappear with the Issuing of a divorce decree. They instead linger like a festering sore that takes time to heal.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sometimes it never heals, and the trauma becomes a life-long journeying accompaniment that is taken to the grave. Worse still in many cases, is in it becoming transferred to the next generation. Parents in conflict with each other present a far worse scenario for their children to inherit, if they indeed part ways with each other. Divorce, tragically, is a gift that keeps on giving in its destructive outcomes. It may remove a present problem, but it attaches an even greater future burden on all who are directly affected by it.<\/p>\n

Marriage never exists in isolation. It is inextricably linked to family, so saving a marriage is saving the family.<\/strong> I know what marriage turmoil feels like. I lived it. I walked through it. It is the most traumatic experience I have ever gone through. I’m here to help you avoid it.<\/p>\n

Divorce is not God\u2019s will, but rather an ungodly act that destroys families. My mission is rooted in the conviction that marriage is a divine covenant, and must be protected at all costs.<\/p>\n

From my own personal marriage experience, I’ve chosen to help save others’ marriages through writing, counseling and teaching. Knowledge on its own is good, but knowledge coupled with experience is far greater.<\/p>\n

Writing was gifted to me.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started doing it not long after I married in the early 90\u2019s, putting thoughts to tons of scribbled notes. It came as no surprise then when in 1997, a visiting preacher told me that \u201cthere are books inside of you.\u201d That first book however was only realised in 2011.<\/p>\n

Writers block enveloped me for a few years after that, until a window opened up again and I was back into writing with vigour. The new project looked like it was taking on the form of a mega work, so I divided it into 3 parts, completing and printing the first one. Whilst I was busy applying myself to the second and third parts, my writing took an unexpected turn, brought on by the unexpected turn of events in my personal life.<\/p>\n

My marriage started heading down a slippery slope from which it was struggling to find its grip to make a recovery. It eventually never did. For one who never expected such a thing to ever befall me, it shook the core of my being unlike anything I had ever experienced.<\/p>\n

Desperate to find help from the church, family and friends to rescue us, I came to realise how they were either non-existent, indifferent or just completely inefficient. That\u2019s when I turned to finding out the answers for myself to just how this thing of divorce could find application in the life of a believer. It became revelatory even to me. I realised just how ignorant I was, and how I had married in ignorance of biblical precepts that were the foundation upon which the Order of marriage was founded.<\/p>\n

Armed with the knowledge, I put it into writing 2 books on the matter of marriage and divorce and how it pertains to those who claim belonging to the church. But it was not just the biblical knowledge that informed my writings, it was the experience as well.<\/p>\n

Divorce isn\u2019t just a legal ending, it\u2019s an emotional death sentence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It can kill your identity, it can kill off your purpose, it disrupts your future and it can literally kill you. I came to realise why mental health is such an important part of the overall well-being of men who internalise their struggles in marriage dissolution. For some, the thought of losing their proximity to the nuclear family is unbearable, and they end their struggle through taking their lives.<\/p>\n

I was there in that place and had to fight to stave off the temptation to do it. When you\u2019re in the cauldron of experiencing abandonment by friends, children alienation and every attempt to
destroy everything about you, the thought of exiting this world is strong.<\/p>\n

I fought, and I won.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I did not win the battle to save my marriage, but I won the battle to survive the trauma that enveloped me in the run up to its eventual demise. It is through pain that God delivers purpose, and I\u2019m convinced of its application in my situation.<\/p>\n

I never envisaged writing about marriage; it was something that simply never even found a place in my thoughts. Arriving now at having written 2 books on the matter has placed my feet on a new path to save others from falling victim to this evil that divorce is. Armed with the biblical knowledge, and the experience that came by way of the various emotional struggles I endured and the exposure to almost every legal procedure that accompanies a marriage conflict, I\u2019ve become equipped to translate all of this into a newfound purpose to help those\u00a0who are facing the same struggle.<\/p>\n

In his ring, we wrestle, and we do not wrestle against our spouse or family members or friends, but against his principalities and powers who assign demonic agents to make their way into influencing our spouses, family and friends. <\/p>\n

I am both richer and poorer for my experience. I am richer in the knowledge I have come into through study and through experience, and I am poorer for the loss I suffered. I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have certainly been a wiser builder of my marriage. <\/p>\n

But you are wiser because of me, and still having your marriage, you know what to do and what to guard your marriage against. <\/p>\n
